Error: the macros in this project have been disabled

Symptoms

When opening an FS Pro document, the following message is displayed:

  • The Macros in this project cannot be found or have been disabled due to your security settings, or
  • The Macros in this project have been disabled.

Cause

The Macro Security Settings in Word need to be adjusted in order for FS Pro to run properly.

Procedure for Word 2003

Proceed as follows in Word 2003 to resolve this problem:

Open a blank Word document.

In the Tools drop down menu, choose Macro > Security

Change the setting to Medium.

Click OK.

Close Word.

Open a new FS Pro document.

Choose to Enable Macros and check off Always trust this source...

Change your security settings back to high (optional).

Procedure for Word 2007

Proceed as follows in Word 2007 to resolve this problem:

Click the Office button in Word (top left).

Select Word Options (bottom right).

In the window navigation, click on Trust Center.

Click the Trust Center Settings button.

Result: The Trust Center window is displayed.

In the window navigation, select Macro Settings.

Select Disable all macros except digitally signed macros.

In the window navigation, click on Trusted Locations.

Click the Add New Location button.

Result: The Microsoft Office Trusted Location window is displayed.

Copy and paste the following in the Path field:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Information Mapping\ (for 64‐bit systems), or
  • C:\Program Files\Information Mapping\ (for 32‐bit systems).

Put a check mark in the box Subfolders of this location are also trusted.

Click OK, OK, and OK.

Close FS Pro and Word.

Restart FS Pro.

Procedure for Word 2010

Proceed as follows in Word 2010 to resolve this problem:
